2. What this is about
This page announces the launch of Terra Sol. You can sign up for our newsletter here. We process personal data in two situations: technically when you visit the page, and when you sign up.
3. Visiting the page and hosting
Our website runs on the Shopify platform. The provider for Europe is Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland. When you visit the page, Shopify processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the address requested, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page. This is needed to deliver the page to you and to protect it from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Shopify processes this data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR), also outside the EU, in particular in Canada and the USA. For Canada there is an adequacy decision by the European Commission; for other countries Shopify uses appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Fonts and images on this page come from Shopify's own servers. The page also connects to other Shopify services (shop.app, shopifysvc.com), for example to measure loading times and errors. It does not use Google Fonts. The only other provider involved is hCaptcha, which protects the sign-up form (see section 6).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The page stores small files (cookies) and similar entries in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics services from other providers such as Google or Meta.
Technically necessary and always active:

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working page (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These cookies do not require your consent.
Analytics and marketing only with your consent: Shopify can set cookies for visitor statistics (_shopify_analytics) and for where visits come from (_shopify_marketing), each for 1 year. This only happens if you agree (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We do not ask for this on this pre-launch page, so both remain off.
5. Newsletter
When you sign up, we store your email address to keep you informed about the launch of Terra Sol and our news.
Confirmation (double opt-in): After signing up, you receive an email with a confirmation link. We only add you to our list once you click it. This makes sure nobody signs up with someone else's address. We store the time of sign-up and confirmation so we can prove your consent.
Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@terra-sol.com. Processing carried out before you withdraw remains lawful.
Service providers: Your sign-up is stored in our Shopify account and passed on from there to Klaviyo, which we use to send our emails. The provider is Klaviyo, Inc., USA. Klaviyo processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR) and in the USA. Klaviyo is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. Measuring engagement: Our emails contain common technologies that let Klaviyo record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. This shows us which content interests you. It is part of your consent to the newsletter and ends when you withdraw it.
Storage period: As long as you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address only on a suppression list so that you receive no further emails (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Spam protection (hCaptcha)
To protect the sign-up form from bots, our shop platform uses hCaptcha, a service of Intuition Machines, Inc., 1065 SW 8th St #704, Miami, FL 33130, USA. hCaptcha only loads once you start using the form. It processes your IP address, information about your browser and device, and how you interact with the page (for example mouse and touch movements) to tell people and bots apart. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the form from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is processed in the USA. Intuition Machines is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. More: hcaptcha.com/privacy.
7. Links to Instagram and LinkedIn
The icons lead to our profiles. They are simple links: as long as you do not click, no data is sent to Meta or LinkedIn. After you click, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access the data we store about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). An email to info@terra-sol.com is enough.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Rome (garanteprivacy.it). You can also contact the authority in your country of residence.
9. Other
Providing your email address is voluntary. Without it, we cannot send you the newsletter. There is no automated decision-making, including profiling.
We will update this policy when our offering changes, at the latest when the shop launches.
